The vision: Put the Bayview on the map as a destination for those who love large-scale public art.
That was the inspiration for Imprint City’s Sprayview mural project, an evolving community masterwork. And it’s the type of project that Imprint City, the powerhouse nonprofit founded by Tyra Fennell, has now become known for. With subjects both lighthearted and thoughtful, the murals provide everything from a fun backdrop for selfies to profound insight. This outdoor attraction’s striking presence and celebration of diversity have transformed the vibe along Egbert Avenue, formerly a plain collection of industrial buildings.
Imprint City continues to make its mark by bringing three annual festivals to the Bayview, generating business-friendly foot traffic by enlivening public spaces with the arts, culture, and community development.
Imprint City has become a leading changemaker in Bayview and a driving force in the community that makes lasting impressions among residents and visitors alike. Its mission embodies the creativity, enterprise and fun that help make the Bayview such a vibrant place.
This month, don’t miss the Southside Music Festival on May 19 from noon- 7 p.m. This free indie music festival invites the community out to enjoy live neighborhood music the whole family will enjoy.
And if that isn’t enough, Bayview is heating up with BayviewSPARC on June 16, 3 p.m. – midnight, showcasing everything from big art displays to live performances. Then this fall, the BayviewLIVE festival returns on October 20, noon-7 p.m., dedicated not just to urban music and art, but to tech-world opportunities.
Imprint City is making its own imprint on the Bayview, and for that we are grateful! Come experience Imprint City’s energy yourself at these upcoming events.
