Today we are highlighting one of our star employees. Bobby has created the vision and reality of The Storehouse at The SF Shipyard.

Name

Bobby Pooni

Hometown

Ba, Fiji Islands. I moved to the U.S. when I was 7 years old.

Current position

General Manager of The Storehouse

How long have you been with The Storehouse?

I started with FivePoint in March 2015 and we opened The Storehouse in July 2015. I took the vision the team had and ran with it. Today it is a reality!

Why did you take the job?

I wanted to be part of something truly original, and The Storehouse is that. The whole focus was to create a local favorite in a totally new environment.

If you could use three words to describe The Storehouse, what would they be?

  1. Relaxing
  2. Destination
  3. A great cup of coffee [we gave him a few extra words on this one]

What’s your favorite part of the job?

It’s twofold. One, I love to see current Bayview-Hunters Point residents happy. We create happiness here! Two, The Storehouse is typically the gateway to The SF Shipyard development, so when people come here they get to know more about what the future will look like. It starts here.

How would you describe The Storehouse?

A place where you can get a cup of coffee and get to know your community.

What are some fun facts about you?

  1. I’m content.
  2. I’m taking my 17 year old nephew to the World Cup this year.
  3. I love to spend time with my niece, nephew and family.

How do you work with the community?

I partner with local companies to provide high-quality products at The Storehouse, like Jeremiah’s Pick Coffee, Yvonne’s Southern Sweets and Trop Bon. I have built relationships with the community by explaining what we’re doing here and how we can work together for true success. Our partners are amazing and go out of their way for us – they really do! They understand how we’re impacting the community positively, and that we support so many local businesses. Their success is ours, and ours is theirs.
