San Francisco is a city known for its openness and cultural diversity. So naturally, St. Patrick’s Day is our kind of holiday! Drink some green beer, jig along to Irish music and celebrate with with other St. Patty’s Day revelers this Friday. Here’s a sampling of the events happening around the city:
Marina-Union St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl
Pull out the stops to party at more than a dozen spots around the Marina District and Union Street. Drink specials include $2 draft beers, $3 well drinks and $4 whiskey shots (before 10 p.m., at least – then add $2). To participate, you can buy a two-day pass or a single day, and you must check in at designated registration locations. There, you get a map listing bars and drink specials. SF Nightlife St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl
Friday, March 17 brings the Irish Stroll and Get Shamrocked After Party. The Hangover Brunch follows on Saturday, March 18!
Taverna Aventine St. Patrick’s Day Alley Block Party
Come party in the Financial District with about 1,500 other people at the annual Taverna Avertine St. Patrick’s Day Alley block party. The indoor-outdoor event features live DJs, a food truck, drink specials and special live music performances. It’s free and all starts at 4 p.m., Friday, March 17.
The Irish Bank St. Patrick’s Day Holiday Block Party
Too much excitement for just one weekend, sponsored by a classic Irish pub. On Friday, March 17, live music, a DJ, libations, dancing, a balloon drop, 2 p.m.-midnight.
Royal Exchange St. Patrick’s Day Block Party
Get rowdy with traditional Irish fare, live music and plenty of Guinness. This block party is free, so wear your green and get ready to party in the streets starting at 3 p.m. Friday, March 17.
