It’s been a long time coming, but we couldn’t be more excited to announce that the Bayview Opera House, San Francisco’s oldest theater, is reopening with a celebration of a lifetime this Saturday.
For nearly three years, The Bayview Opera House has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation encompassing much-needed structural upgrades, an expanded plaza, a new wooden outdoor stage, new steps, lighting and an entry porch making arrival to the theater more welcoming. Other changes include the main entry being more visible from Third Street and additional structural work that will enhance the safety of the structure making the building completely ADA accessible.
The Grand Reopening event will bring the Bayview community, and beyond, together for an afternoon of celebration and laughter. Live music and entertainment will fill the plaza with a number of live performances including PUSH Dance Company with a new edition of “Point Shipyard,” Hip Hop For Change featuring Khafre and Do D.A.T., Mario B’s Fashion Show, A.C.T.: Excerpts from Crack.Rumble.Fly, Sons Of Ruth Williams, Prescott Circus Theatre and more. Other activities will include giants fun slides, arts activates and face painting for the kids.
In addition, there will be some of our favorite local purveyors serving up delicious bites and libations courtesy of Bayview Underground Pop Up Market including Old Skool Café, Yvonne’s Southern Sweets, Auntie April’s, Gratta Wines, Laughing Monk Brewery and BVOH Grill.
We hope to see everyone there! For all the details, visit http://www.eventbrite.com/e/grand-reopening-tickets-27508739380.
