The fact that July 4th happens to fall on a Tuesday won’t discourage thousands of people from descending on the waterfront to enjoy a full-day Independence Day celebration in San Francisco. We pulled together a list of activities happening in the city – from family-friendly outdoor events to nighttime firework shows lighting up the sky with red, white and blue:
Fisherman’s Wharf Live Entertainment and Fireworks Extravaganza
Head down to Fisherman’s Wharf for FREE performances by The Purple Ones – A Prince Tribute Band at 6 p.m. and The Cheeseballs – Bay Area Dance Party Band at 7:45. Lastly, kick back and look up for the City & County of San Francisco Fireworks Show viewed from Aquatic Park and PIER 39 at approximately 9:30.
4th of July Celebration at THE PIER
Celebrate the 4th of July at PIER 39 with the whole family! The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with special exhibits west of PIER 39. Rock out to live music by WJM on the Entrance Plaza Stage from 1:30-2:15, followed by the Bay Area’s favorite cover band Tainted Love – The Best of the 80s Live! from 5-8. At 9:30 p.m., look to the sky for the City & County of San Francisco’s spectacular fireworks display.
4th of July Fireworks Cruise Presented by Rendezvous Charters
Come aboard the Bay Lady for the 24th annual Fourth of July cruise sailing the SF Bay Area! This three-hour event includes a cash bar plus free deli-style buffet. The cruise departs at 7:30 p.m. from Pier 4. Please be aware this is an outdoor experience, so dressing warm is highly encouraged! Boarding passes for adults are $80 and kids under 12 are $50. Red and White Fleet: 4 Cruises
Celebrate Independence Day on the Red and White Fleet Annual Fireworks Cruise to view San Francisco’s illuminated skyline. The cruises will settle near the location of the fireworks to ensure best possible views for all guests aboard. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
